Avoid sleeping on them

While you cannot remove sewn-in extensions, it is important to wear a sleeping cap or a silk scarf while sleeping to avoid frizz or tangling.
Use mild shampoo and conditioner
Because hair extensions are dyed in the perfect shade to match your hair, use a gentle shampoo and conditioner that is safe for colored hair. To keep human hair extensions soft and manageable, only use the shampoo recommended by your hair stylist.
Avoid applying heat
While it is easy to forget that hair extensions are not attached to your scalp and do not receive the same oils and nutrients as your natural hair, it is critical not to overuse heating tools to style your extensions.
It will damage the texture and appearance of the extension and cause it to wear out faster. Instead of using heating tools, try a texture spray for heat-free styling.
Don’t wash often
If you have sewn-in hair extensions, wash your hair as you normally would, which is probably twice a week. However, if you wear hair clip-ons, washing them once a month is perfectly normal.
You may think it is a long time, but keep in mind that clip-on hair extensions lack the natural oils and nutrients that your hair does, so washing them frequently will cause them to become brittle, tangled, and frizzy.
Color it safely
Even though coloring your own extensions is simple, it is best to leave this task to the professionals. You may believe you can do it yourself, but getting the right color on the first try is difficult.

Store properly
